Profile of:

Warren Fong

I am currently a Senior Consultant in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology in Singapore General Hospital. I obtained my Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2004. Since 2011, I have been a member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) and have full registration with the General Medical Council (UK) since 2013. I completed my Advanced Specialty Training in Rheumatology in 2014. I had the opportunity to further my training in the use of advanced therapeutics in the management of patients with inflammatory arthritis, incorporating translational research through the conduct of early-phase trials in the United Kingdom under the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP). This was conducted at the Department of Rheumatology of University Hospital Southampton National Health Service (NHS) Foundation Trust and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility under the supervision of Professor Christopher Edwards, as well as The Mile End Hospital in London under the supervision of Dr Stephen Kelly and Professor Pitzalis. My interest lies in inflammatory arthritis, in particular spondyloarthritis, and I have taken a keen interest in the conduct of early phase therapeutic trials in inflammatory arthritis. I am a principal investigator for clinical trials looking at biologic agents in axial spondyloarthritis, as well as principal investigator for studies looking at biomarkers and the use of complementary medicine in axial spondyloarthritis.
