All current members with the expiring membership will be contacted by email to identify their continued interest in ASAS, and to defend their membership status. If no response received or members are not able or unwilling to defend their membership, their membership will expire, they will be taken out of the member list and will not further be included in the mailing list. This process is performed regularly and was lastly conducted in 2018.
Applications for a new membership are reviewed by the Executive Committee (usually at ASAS Meetings adjacent to EULAR, ACR Annual Meeting or International Congress on Spondyloarthritis in Gent and at ASAS annual meeting in January). Deadline for membership applications are January 1, June 1, and October 1 each calendar year.
The number of members is currently not limited.
ASAS membership is provided free of charge.
Persons in industry may not apply for membership outside that included in the Corporate Partner Program.
